Sir Cecily Pomfret, (aged 42 and a half), chief operating officer of the B.U.M., has been knighted in the New Year Honours list. He started his career in weaving as a 16-year old school leaver in 1938. When he left the industry six months later it was as the chief executive of one of Britain’s largest retail banks, now sadly defunct.
Mr Pomfret made his name in monster investigations when he invented the Patented Automatic Nocturnal Transmitting System, now also sadly defunct. Following this breakthrough he was swiftly elected to the chairmanship of the B.U.M., a position he has held tightly onto ever since.
In 1933 he married his wife, also called Cecily. Sir Cecily and Mrs Sir Cecily are keen patrons of the arts, and also enjoy ceramics.
