Anyone who knows me well will know that I have a soft spot for a glass of quality red wine. I was very disturbed recently to discover during a foray out of the caves that even this area is being taken over by monsters! Apparently a group of young business-minded chaps have recently bought some vineyards in Australia with the intention of making their mark on the wine industry. Some of the more established people in the industry made comment about them being ‘Some young punks’ due to their rather outlandish appearance, a label that they instantly latched onto and developed into their brand name!
Some Young Punks have produced such distinguished wines as the above pictured bottle of ‘The Squid’s Fist’ (which didn’t taste like it contained tentacles!) and more distubingly, perhaps, a bottle with the dubious name of ‘Monsters, Monsters ATTACK’! Some of the other labels like ‘Naked on Roller Skates’ and ‘Passion has Red Lips’ make the very good point that wine is really only suitable for those aged 18 and over!
I think I’m detecting some subversive influence in their choice of wine names here. All librarians and adults out there who are reading this be aware – these wines are not in any way connected with the authors who have been trapped here in the caves… except perhaps the one bottle that I consumed over the weekend. Yum!
