Drawing Blood (Again)!

Last week I mentioned I’ll be spending a little time this weekend with Chris Mould (yes, that’s him in the picture – self portrait I may add). He’s the rather clever author and illustrator of, among his many impressive titles, the quite wonderful Something Wickedly Weird series.

I’ll be joining him at Dean Clough in Halifax in a joint talk as part of the Halifax Ghost Story Festival this Saturday, 30th at 11.00am.

When I appear at an event I like to plan everything as much in advance as possible. I’m one of those nervy types that dosen’t like too many surprises! Chris, on the other hand, is supremely relaxed and has the unnerving talent of talking, joking and drawing simultaneously. Why, if I asked him to make everyone a cup of tea he’s probably do that as well. A clever man indeed, he is worth the price of the ticket alone. As for me, well, I guess I shouldn’t sell myself too short. I can spin a yarn, of sorts, draw a bit and, if pushed, pass out the tea cups during the break.

It may not be much but hey, what do you want, blood? Actually, I suspect there’ll be plenty of that at the weekend. After all, it will be Halloween!
