I stumbled across an old notebook at the back of the cave the other day, in which I’d written a few quick stories, poems and book ideas. Most of them weren’t really useful for future projects, but one silly poem was fun to read back – so I thought I’d post it here and give you the chance to add to it.

How do you sleep?
Igor the boar does nothing but snore
Drake the snake simply can’t stay awake
Mark the shark likes to snooze in the dark
Sandeep the sheep sometimes sings in his sleep
Honey the bunny sleeps with carrots – how funny!
Pat the rat watches out for the cat
Mog the dog always sleeps like a log
Gayle the whale tucks up under her tale
Bruce the goose dreams of cranberry juice!
Zack the yak sleeps with birds on his back
Claire the bear snuggles up in her fur
How do you sleep?

Wow – I never thought of how animals may sleep. But you forgot that
Chuck the duck sleeps on a rug,
Nippo the hippo can´t stop to sip, oh!
Jule the mule dreams of soft wool,
Berry-Air the terrier is a funny flea-carrier,
Cole the owl sits eye-blinking on his pole,
Kent the ant sleeps on a plant,
and Lisa-Marie the flee hums in a tree.
By the way – I am no animal, but I sympathize with Claire

Zack the Yak likes to sleep on his back
Trish the fish dreams of a wish
Matt the Bat catches gnats for a [midnight] snack
(Matt the Bat hangs upside down from the hook for a hat)
Morse the Horse dreams of sugar, of course!
Ziggy the Piggy rolls in the mud and gets icky
Neal the Eel can only sleep after a meal
Malcolm the Falcon likes to perch by the fountain
Myrtle the Turtle quietly gurgles
Molly the Collie curls up with her dolly
Megan the Penguin stays up late playin’
Jacob the wolf cub listens to his iPod
Ella the Gorilla needs at least thirteen pillows
Joe the Crow likes to sleep near the window
Mavin the Raven sleeps in a safe haven

Oh, I didn’t see that you also wrote Zack the Yak…So ignore that one that I wrote…
And for Jacob the wolf cub I meant to write “Jacob the Bear cub likes listening to his iPod.
