This has gotta be one of my favourite school event stories. Actually, I had a first yesterday. I was signing books after the Sheffield Book Award ceremony (alas, I didn't win). There was a long queue stretched out before me, all waiting to get a signed book by the winner, and a boy, pulling a face at the length of the queue, shuffled over to my table, one hand in his pocket, and said "I know you didn't write this but can you sign it?" I showed him my teeth and said 'no!' The sad thing was - he wasn't the only one that asked. Anyhoo, more mumbling please Mr Mumbles! Ha! This has gotta be one of my favourite school event stories.
