Duck-Billed Attack!

Second-hand book website Abe Books has just launched a ‘Weird Book Room’. So of course I had to take a look.

And yes, there are some very weird things in there. Including:
How to Clip a Poodle
Towel Origami
The Amateur Taxidermist
How to Avoid Huge Ships
and many, many more. If you think this is a joke, check it out here.
But what are my favourites? Well, there are two which stand out to me as being particularly useful to writers of adventure fiction and people trapped in a cave with monsters. I am both. So I love these: The Platypus of Doom and How to Survive a Robot Uprising.

I will definitely be checking out Platypus of Doom.

I love the subtitle to Platypus of Doom. Not only is he a freakish, half-man, half-platypus, but he also believes that life is without meaning or purpose.

That said, I don’t suppose you can blame the poor blighter.

I know, they’re the bane of your life, huge ships, aren’t they? Everywhere you go, there one is. It must be a living hell.

Hi all – quick answer for Adam:
JC Blackout is delayed because I’ve taken the rights back from HarperCollins, after a bit of a disagreement over when and how the book should be published. So there’s no revised date for its release yet, but in the long run it should all come out much better for me, for the books and for readers!
My plans for books after JC are being put into action and we’ll see what happens…
