Party Tentacles

More from the Monster Archives, this time in the form of a print by nineteenth century Japanese genius Utagawa Kuniyoshi.

Its official title is Octopus Games. But – as Kuniyoshi himself was undoubtedly aware – we unlucky cave denizens refer to real-life monster scenes like these as, simply, “Saturday“.

This print was created in around 1842. Which means that dude with the drumsticks and megaphone – and the geezer behind him on turntables – have now been making their unholy racket for more than a hundred and fifty years. Sorry for the short post, but in a second or two I’m going to have to stop typing and put my fingers back in my ears. ;p
