Hi,
It was a pleasure to visit your informative blog. I approach you to seek critique for the first chapter of my 105, 000 literary novel--A Saviour Reborn. I understand it is difficult for anyone to spare time for a stranger. But still somehow i feel you'll not say `no'. I'm a well-placed journalist in India and this is my first novel.

Fantastic. I love this no-nonsense approach. Thanks, Tommy. I've posted a link on my blog, http://wordsarehard.blogspot.com. Feel free to send me any other material you want proliferated. I'm a former literary agent turned literary consultant and will do what I can to help.

THANK YOU!
I am within days of finishing my book, and realizing I have zero to no clue about next steps. Appreciate the clarification on the need for an agent.
Don't know if you're in the habit of writing back or interacting with comments, but if a book is in actuality a memoir, should you pitch it as a memoir or is it okay to pass it off as fiction? My desire is to do the latter mostly because the story is so personal and has so many painful elements, but I have a few concerns about the 'stranger than fiction' factor. (And a little bit of 'this is my story' pride kicking in.)
Anyway...thanks! If I can return the favor, let me know.

Great advice here. Seen most of it before in other research of the process, but it is always worth repeating. The more I read stuff like this the more it all sinks into my brain and stays there.

And of course, if it weren't for advice things like this I'd have absolutely no idea what to do. So thank you (and the many others too).
